Emily Dodge is the Founder of StartMotions. Since she was little she's loved animals, and her parents fostered that love by allowing her to adopt and take care of them. Always concerned about the environment, Emily tried to raise money to save the rainforest and later, participated in various environmental campaigns. Graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, Emily began the concepts for StartMotions shortly after her senior film was accepted into international film festivals. The nine minute film, Two By Two, was so widely accepted Emily decided to make a feature length version. After contemplating the making of a feature length animation, Emily decided to start a non-profit animation studio that used materials similar to the pilot, the most famous being the water in the film, which is made from broken glass she found around Providence, RI. Now, StartMotions is an environmentally friendly animation studio that uses Clean Energy and makes animations from recycled materials. This innovative non-profit is now a working model for other businesses and organizations, showing how efficient and creative an earth-friendly existence can be.
